About
Mission and History
Governance and community leadership: implement the Chinatown Strategy through leadership, shared responsibility and resourcing.
From enthusiastic shopkeepers and a range of festivals to diverse and authentic food offerings and proximity to the downtown core, Edmonton's Chinatown already offers great specialties. CTC's programs leverage these assets to give residents and visitors multiple reasons to visit Chinatown throughout the year.

Land Acknowledgement
Edmonton's Chinatown stands on Treaty 6 territory. For thousands of years before Chinese newcomers opened the first shops near Jasper Avenue, this land was cared for by the nêhiyaw (Cree), Dene, Anishinaabe (Saulteaux), Nakota Isga (Nakota Sioux) and Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) peoples. It is the homeland of the Métis, and Edmonton is home to one of the largest Inuit communities south of the 60th parallel.
Chinese Canadians know what it means to build community on land and in a country that did not always welcome them. We honour the peoples who were here first, and we commit to a Chinatown where Indigenous neighbours, artists and businesses are partners in its future: in our programs, our events and the stories we tell.
