A two-sided narrative. The South Face features a traditional gift from Harbin, while the North Face showcases public art interpretations of Edmonton’s evolving history by local artists.

Bookending the District

The new Harbin Gate at 101A Avenue will serve as a defining southern boundary, bookending the district alongside the Gate of Happy Arrival at 107A Avenue. Together, they anchor the cultural and commercial vitality of Edmonton’s old and new Chinatowns.

Restoring the iconic decorative lanterns along 97 Street. This project enhances nighttime safety while reinforcing the district's distinct cultural boundary and aesthetic charm.

Tactical Signage Solutions

Implementing a unified pedestrian-first signage system. These markers highlight key gateways, heritage landmarks, and merchant clusters to encourage exploration between the North and South cores.
